Even though this is not really Permaculture related, I had to post this stunning image I took from my first gooseneck barnacle appetizer of my life (no, there where not just three barnicles on that plate 😉 ). Living in Portugal already for about a year I am quite late for this encounter, I must admit. It is a very typical Portuguese seafood.
This tasty stuff and micro eye candy invaded one of our left alone, earth filled bath tubs. (Stellaria media), chickweed. Flowering, seeding and growing all year around in all kind of humid soils, it is a great addition to salads because of its extreme VitaminC content and tastes like joung corn. It is also known for attracting wildlife! It shurely is a beneficial ground cover for every garden.
